With Jan through Tyrol’s Dream Landscapes

Hey dear bikerfriends,

May brings sunshine – and here at Kurven & Knödel hotels, the passion for motorcycling is burning brighter than ever! And because anticipation is the greatest joy, I, Jan from Apart Vivaldi, am taking you on a virtual motorcycle tour today through the breathtaking Alpine world – from Tyrol through the Dolomites to the majestic Großglockner.

Starting point: My Apart Vivaldi in See, Tyrol. Here, you're right in the heart of a motorcyclist’s paradise! Right outside the door, legendary passes like the Silvretta High Alpine Road, Arlberg Pass, Ofen Pass, and many more await. Pack your bags, start your engines, and let’s hit the road together!

STAGE 1

Tyrol – Land of Mountains and Passes

From See, we cruise along the Silvretta High Alpine Road, soaking in the breathtaking panorama as we wind our way up to the Bielerhöhe pass (2,032 m). A stop at the Silvretta Reservoir is a must! We continue over the Arlberg Pass, past lush alpine meadows and imposing mountain ranges. In Lech am Arlberg, we take a well-earned break and refuel with some traditional Tiroler Gröstl and a cold beer.

Culinary tip: Don’t miss the Käsknöpfle at Gasthof Post in Lech – absolutely delicious!

STAGE 2

Dolomites – Fascination in Rock and Stone

The Dolomites welcome us with their bizarre rock formations and legendary mountain passes. We reach South Tyrol via the Timmelsjoch. The view from the top is simply spectacular! Our route takes us to our partner hotel Das Mondschein, where Nina greets us with a delicious lunch on her sunny terrace.

We continue over the Karer Pass toward Passo Pordoi and Passo Sella, passing the imposing Tre Cime di Lavaredo (Three Peaks). In Cortina d'Ampezzo – the "St. Moritz of the Dolomites" – we soak up the Italian atmosphere and end the day with pizza and a glass of red wine.

Culinary Tip: While in the Dolomites at Das Mondschein, be sure to try the South Tyrolean specialty Schlutzkrapfen – delicate pasta pockets filled with ricotta and spinach. A true regional delight!

STAGE 3

Großglockner – King of the Alps

This stage takes us up the legendary Großglockner High Alpine Road. Curve by curve, we climb Austria’s highest mountain (3,798 m). At the top, we’re rewarded with an unforgettable panoramic view. Marmots cross our path, glaciers sparkle in the sun, and the crisp mountain air invites us to take a deep breath and simply enjoy the moment. After a well-deserved break at the Fuschertörl restaurant, we cruise back down into the valley toward our partner hotel Grizzly Resort, where our next tour tip awaits – with biker host Christian and his powerhouse partner Astrid.

Culinary Tip: Along the Großglockner High Alpine Road, be sure to try the Kaspressknödelsuppe – a hearty cheese dumpling soup, perfect for chilly days.
